No. 15 Westmont Blanks ACU

Phoenix, Ariz. - Westmont College (9-3-1, 5-1-0 GSAC), ranked 15th in the Oct. 9 NAIA Top 25 National Coaches' poll, blanked Arizona Christian University (3-8-1, 0-6-0 GSAC), 6-0, in Golden State Athletics Conference women's soccer action, Saturday, Oct. 13, at Scottsdale Christian Academy. ACU has lost its last six matches and has been held scoreless seven times this season. 

ACU takes on San Diego Christian College (5-7-0, 2-4-0), in GSAC action, Thursday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m., in El Cajon, California, and plays a GSAC match at The Master's College (9-3-2, 4-2- 0 GSAC), which ranks 20th in the NAIA, Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., in Santa Clarita, California. 

Westmont midfielder Aolani Rueff scored Westmont's first two goals in the first half and its fifth goal of the match in the second half and assisted on the third goal. Rueff now has eight goals and six assists this season for 22 points. Sophomore forward Kaci Mexico scored Westmont's third goal of the match and assisted on the sixth, late in the second half, and defender Alison Hensley nailed a penalty kick at 32:04 of the first half, giving Westmont a 4-0 lead. Sophomore forward Carly Holly ended Westmont's scoring at 77:34 in the second half. 

Not only did Westmont keep ACU off the scoreboard, but the Warriors also allowed no shots and no corner kicks to the Firestorm. Westmont led 26-0 in shots, 16-0 in shots and goal and 9-0 in corner kicks. ACU's freshman Sydney Roller-Sotak (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) saved 10 Westmont shots on goal, seven in the first half.
