Scottsdale, Ariz. - Menlo College midfielder Erika Savela assisted on the first two goals and scored the third as Menlo (4-2-0) shut out Arizona Christian University (1-2-1), 3-0, in collegiate women's soccer action, Saturday, Sept. 8, at Scottsdale Soccer Complex. Menlo scored twice in the first half and tacked on its third goal in the second half.

Coached by Carl Cecil (third season), the Firestorm hosts Simpson University from Redding, Calif., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m., in the second half of a collegiate soccer doubleheader with the ACU's men's soccer team hosting Simpson at 5 p.m., at the Scottsdale Soccer Complex, Field 1.

Menlo enjoyed a 14-6 shot advantage over ACU, and led 9-5 in shots and goal and 3-0 in corner kicks. ACU also was whistled for 10 offsides violations, all in the first half. ACU's freshman goalkeeper Sydney Roller-Sotak (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) saved six opponent shots on goal, four in the first half, and Menlo's starting goalkeeper Whitney Galindo saved five ACU shots on goal.
