Westmont Storms Past ACU

SANTA BARBARA, CA – The 11th ranked Westmont Warriors women's soccer team blanked the Arizona Christian Firestorm on Saturday afternoon, by a final of 7-0.

With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-10 overall and 0-5 in GSAC play, while Westmont College improves to 9-3 overall and 4-2 in GSAC play this season.

Westmont jumped on the board early Saturday, with a goal by Kaci Mexico in the third minute. Mexico would go on to score two more goals, to complete the hat trick in the 54th minute.

The Warriors tacked on three more goals before halftime to take a commanding 4-0 lead into the break.

Wesmont attacked early in the second half, scoring in the 54th and 58th minute to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The Warriors added their finally goal on a kick from Kaitlin Swift in the 79th minute.

Alex Dugan got the start for ACU in goal and allowed six goals in 62 minutes played, while making four saves.

The Arizona Christian women's soccer team will return home this Wednesday for a GSAC match-up with San Diego Christian College. The game is scheduled to start at 3pm. The Firestorm men will follow the women with a game against San Diego Christian College at 5:30pm.
