Box Score PHOENIX, AZ – The San Diego Christian College Hawks women's soccer team storm past the Arizona Christian Firestorm by a final of 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in GSAC play, while San Diego Christian College improves to 5-6-1 overall and 3-4 in GSAC play this season.
San Diego Christian struck fast on Wednesday afternoon with a goal in the 4th minute to take the early 1-0 lead thanks to Samantha Schmidt.
The Hawks would tack on one more goal before halftime in the 42nd minute by Amanda Massey to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
In the second half, San Diego Christian struck for two quick goals in the first eight minutes for a commanding 4-0 lead.
The Firestorm broke-up the shutout in the 63rd minute when Crista Ortiz scored for ACU to make the score 4-1 in favor of San Diego Christian.
The Hawks then scored a goal in the 68th minute and the 72nd minute to close out the game and earn the 6-1 victory.
San Diego Christian outshot Arizona Christian 26-2 in the game.
The Arizona Christian women's soccer team returns to action this Saturday morning when they travel to Santa Clarita, California to face The Master's College at 11am. The women will be followed by the ACU men at 1:30pm against The Master's College men.
