Box Score IRVINE, CA – The Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team lost on Saturday afternoon to Vanguard University by a final of 9-0 in Costa Mesa, California.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in GSAC play. With the victory, Vanguard University improves to 9-1-1 overall and 2-1 in GSAC play.
Vanguard got in the scoring column in the 28th minute, when Jennifer Martin found the back of the net on a Madison Cody assist to make it 1-0.
The Lions would add two more goals to take a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Vanguard struck again; nine minutes in to the half to take a 5-0 lead thanks to Jennifer Martin. Martin ended the game three goals. Madison Cody tallied a goal and three assists for the Lions in the victory.
The Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team returns home this Tuesday, to host Hope International University. Gametime is scheduled for 3pm and will be followed by Firestorm men's soccer game, which starts at 5:30pm. The games will be played at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex on Field 2.
