Hope International Blanks Firestorm

PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team were shutout Tuesday afternoon by Hope International 3-0 at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex.

With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in GSAC play, while Hope International University improves to 6-6 overall and 1-4 in GSAC play this season.

The Royals didn't waste any time at all on Tuesday, as Brandi Neilan struck for a goal for Hope International just 1:47 in the match. The score would remain 1-0 going into halftime.

Once again, the Royals struck early; this time one minute and 25 seconds into the second half before finding the back of the net. Amanda Scheatlze scored for Hope International to give them a 2-0 cushion without an assist.

The Royals third and final goal of the match was scored by Brandi Neilan in the 55th minute for her second goal of the match.

Alex Dugan took the loss for Arizona Christian in net, allowing three goals; while recording six saves.

The Arizona Christian women's soccer team will now hit the road this Saturday for a GSAC match-up with Westmont College. The game is scheduled to start at 2:30pm. The Firestorm women will next be at home a week from tonight; Tuesday the 15th against San Diego Christian College at 3pm.
