Arizona Christian Trounces Bethesda

PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team defeated Bethesda University by a final of 8-1 at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, the Firestorm improve to 2-6 overall and remain 0-1 in GSAC play.

The Firestorm got on the board just 20 minutes into the match, as Kelsey Stipek scored on a pass from Delaney Kim in the box to put ACU ahead of Bethesda 1-0.

Chelsea Rulan added the second goal for the Firestorm in the 36th minute to take a 2-0 lead, before Bethesda got on the board in the 46th minute to draw within one goal at 2-1.

From there on out, it was all ACU as they scored six straight goals; all in the second half to blow by Bethesda with an 8-1 final.

Kelsey Stipek finished the game with three goals.

The Arizona Christian Firestorm women's soccer team will next be in action on Tuesday, when they travel to Irvine to face Concordia University. Gametime is set for 3:30pm. ACU will not return home until October 7th, when they host Hope International University at 3pm.
