The women start conference play against Hope International.

The Women's Soccer team opened up the Golden State Athletic Conference season at Hope International (5-0-2) on Tuesday evening. The Firestorm fell short but came away with some learning lessons to build off of.

"It was good to finally get the conference schedule started," said head coach Alan Berrios. "We know every game in conference is going to be tough and Hope proved that today."

The Royals won the contest with a final score of 4-0. They were strong on both ends of the field with seven shots on goal and holding ACU to no shots on goal.

"We were outworked and outmatched by a very good team.  It was a tough 0-4 loss but one we will learn from."

The Firestorm, 2-3 overall and 0-1 in conference, will be in action in their first conference home game on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 A.M. when they take on GSAC newcomer Menlo College.

"Our women are ready to get back to work in order to ensure we are mentally and physically ready for our next conference match. We now understand the level of intensity it will take to simply compete.
