Box Score El Cajon, CA- A 0-0 game minutes into the second half turned into a 4-0 loss for Arizona Christian at San Diego Christian in the season finale for the two teams on Saturday. Freshman Marisa Ortiz and Junior Zoe Kalos both fired off three shots on goal.
Ortiz opened the shooting with a shot requiring a save six minutes into action.
After SDCC took two shots off target, Freshman Kylie Neafus let loose a shot on goal. Freshman Tessa Williams then just missed a goal when she hit a shot off the crossbar in 24th minute.
Senior Serenity Masterson made her first of six saves on the day at the 27 minute mark. She ended her season with a GSAC high 119 saves.
The Hawks managed three more shots- blocked, high, and saved- before Kalos saw her scoring effort cleared away by a SDCC player leading to an ACU corner kick which was defended without a shot.
Fifty-one minutes of soccer resulted in a 0-0 game.
But that changed in the 52nd minute when the Firestorm were unable to clear a ball resulting in a goal for the Hawks struck from the top of the 18.
Unfortunately, San Diego Christian tacked on goals in the 68th, 76th, and 87th minutes.
Arizona Christian kept fighting which included putting five shots on goal in the second half but were turned away.
Despite seeing their season come to an end, the Firestorm can hold their heads high as they established program highs in overall and GSAC wins.
