The Firestorm did all they could to neutralize the #12 team in the country and forward Reese Davidson but ultimately fell short.  ACU got started fast, getting off three shots in the first twelve minutes.  They were able to keep the majority of offensive possession up until the thirteenth minute when the Warriors recorded their first goal.  That would be the first of three from Davidson and would hold up as the game winner.  The Warriors scored two more goals in the first half despite a hard fought defensive front from the Firestorm.

The second half was a lot more balanced with neither team getting the edge over the other for the first 30 minutes. ACU would get a couple more outside looks at the net but nothing connected.  Reese completed the hat trick, getting her remaining two goals within 5 minutes of each other.  Warriors were able to hold on to maintain the shutout and hand the Firestorm their first conference loss of the season.   

Next Match:

Conference play will continue next Saturday when the Firestorm head to Fullerton, California to take on Hope International University.  That game will be played at Troy High School, kickoff at 1 PM.
