INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

The Firestorm were slow to find their footing, mainly due to the intense rain from the morning that was responsible for the delay.  After some back and forth, ACU quickly found themselves on the wrong end of a 1-0 deficit after a ball that ricocheted off of Sanchez and leaked into the goal.  In the second half the Hawks scored again to double their lead before the Firestorm were able to completely shift the momentum in their favor.  Cami Mercado found another gear and dismantled the Hawks defense, scoring three unanswered goals to take the lead and secure the win.  It would be their second consecutive conference victory, and the Firestorm now find themselves in the top 5 of the GSAC standings.

Next Match:

ACU will take a trip to northern California for two matches against Menlo and William Jessup next weekend in hopes of further solidifying a spot in the conference tournament.  Following that trip will be the last game of the regular season back in Arizona where the Firestorm play host to the cross town conference opponent OUAZ Spirit.

Roll Storm!
