This match up had much more offensive action than the box score would lead you to believe.  Though the final score was just 1-0, both teams actually put up nearly 20 shots combined.  ACU outshot Menlo 11-7 but were unable to capitalize on those opportunities, leading to the Oaks' third shutout of the season.  The Firestorm had a couple very close attempts including a free kick by Miranda Castro that ended up hitting the crossbar and bouncing straight down before it was collected at the last second by the Menlo keeper.  In the 33rd minute, Alyssa Mercado also had a header off of the cross bar directly following a throw-in from Isabelle Cruz, but again the Firestorm were unable to find the net, and would go on to lose by a single goal.  

Next Match:

Women's soccer will take tomorrow off before heading to Rocklin, California to take on the William Jessup Warriors in the first of two soccer games Saturday morning.  Their match will be followed by the men's soccer game, and then the Firestorm will come back to Glendale for their final game of the regular season against the OUAZ Spirit.
