Glendale, Ariz.- The Lady Firestorm swept GSAC awards back-to-back weeks, as midfielder Cami Mercado (Player of the Week) and goalkeeper Tayler Wonderly (Defender of the Week) retained their crowns. In the GSAC Game of the Week this past Thursday, ACU defeated #21-ranked OUAZ 1-0 at Spirit Field to move to 3-0 in conference play. 

Mercado accounted for the eventual game-winning goal in the 34th minute, nailing a shot following an assist from Justyne Underwood. She has now reached the 10-goal mark this season and has three game-winners in 11 games.

Wonderly made her second consecutive start at goalie for the Firestorm against OUAZ, and used two saves to earn her first shutout at ACU. Though OUAZ only had two shots on target, Wonderly and the Firestorm defense hung tough as they were bombarded with 17 shots and seven corner kicks. The freshman goalie has 19 saves and 1.78 GAA in six appearances.

Coming up, Women's Soccer squares off with Hope International this Thursday night at ACU Football Field. The Firestorm, now at the top of the GSAC standings, look to extend their win streak to five against the visiting Royals (1-0-1 GSAC).
