Oklahoma City, Okla. - From the match's onset, the Lady Firestorm fell behind the red-hot Mid-America Christian Evangels, unable to bite into MACU's eventual 4-0 victory. ACU managed to outshoot MACU 9-8 in the second period, but did not threaten enough to make a difference on the scoreboard. The loss comes as only the second for the Lady Firestorm heading into a date with Oklahoma City University on Saturday morning.

Only 70 seconds into the game, Mid-America Christian dealt their first blow to the Firestorm, with Bruna Faleiro finding Jasie Eischen for her first goal of the season. ACU seemed to respond with two shots and two corner kicks in the following minutes, and had a golden opportunity in the 8th minute. Defender Noemie Antoine sent in a penalty kick, but it was saved by MACU goalkeeper, Rachel Torres.

The following 15 minutes were dominated by the Evangels, as they pressured the Firestorm with four corner kicks and two shots. MACU was the beneficiary of that bombardment, as they took a 2-0 lead on an own goal by ACU. After the unfortunate sequence of events, the Firestorm once again tried their hand with four shots in under five minutes, matching Evangel's efforts. Goalkeeper Tayler Wonderly, who made her first start of the season, recorded two saves in the matter of 40 seconds before MACU made another successful trip and Jasmine Morales found Alissa Taylor for a third goal.

Down 3-0 to begin the second half, the Firestorm struggled and saw their frustration build as Kadin Stinson nailed a penalty kick for the Evangels in the 55th minute. ACU never gave up the fight, with six shot attempts in the final 22 minutes, but were shutout for the first time this season 4-0.
