Magical Moore Leads Wrestlers At Firestorm Open

Glendale, Ariz. - Underclassmen were given the spotlight for ACU Wrestling on Saturday in the 1st Annual Firestorm Open hosted at Firestorm Recreation Center. Competitors from nine schools and seven unattached entities progressed through bracket-play on two mats in the FRC. The event marked the final regular season competition for Arizona Christian prior to the CCC Men's Wrestling Tournament (February 16-17) and any other additional postseason.

Four of seven Firestorm wrestlers (Albert Ambriz, Anthony Aguilera, Jacob Ford, Samuel Moore) posted top-three finishes. Both Ford and Aguilera had a shot at second place, but each were victim to early falls.

The day culminated in Moore being crowned heavyweight champion following three consecutive victories. He closed out a dominant performance with a 12-1 major decision over Grand Canyon's Myles McGary.
