Glendale, AZ- The Firestorm Cross Country team played host to cross country teams from across the valley today and came away with both individual and team victories.  Running a shorter race than normal (4K), the Firestorm ladies placed five runner in the top ten, and cruised to a team victory.  Senior Allena Fugatt was the overall winner of the race crossing the finish line in a time of 15:26.  The team also received strong contributions from Junior Kaesha Guillaume who ran 15:57, and freshman Eva Huff who ran 16:01.

Head Coach Brent Fahsholz said, "It was terrific to see our entire lady's team out there today.  Allena was awesome once again, but it was important to see Kaesha improve from a couple weeks ago, and it was certainly great to see Eva perform well again and show us she can be a consistent force on race day.  I really like how our ladies are progressing through this season, and I am excited to see what they accomplish over the next six weeks."

The team also saw the return of several lady runners including freshman Priscilla Celis-Saldivar who, running in her first collegiate meet, finished fourth on the team, and fifth overall while running a 16:15.  Sophomore Madeline Davis rounded out the top five running 18:05 and finishing eighth overall.
Said Coach Fahsholz, "I was excited to see Priscilla run her first college race today.  Her practice sessions have indicated she was ready to run well, and she did not disappoint.  Maddie continues to get stronger each week after struggling through some sickness early on this season.  Once she puts in three or four more weeks like these last two, I think we will see her do some amazing things for our team."

Saturday October 5^th the team will travel to Santa Clarita, CA to compete in the Master's Invite at Central Park.  Men's 8K will start at 8am and the Women's 6K will begin at 8:45am
