Inside Box Scores
  • The Lady Firestorm set the tone early by taking two of the three doubles matches. The duos of Madeline Monroy/Vittoria Quadri and Lucy Rekasch/Ella Lavender both secured 6-2 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively, giving ACU the crucial doubles point. Western New Mexico managed a win at No. 3 doubles, where Gabriella Blumberg and Jenna Kastell dominated 6-0.
  • In singles play, ACU dominated the top half of the lineup. Monroy (No. 1), Rekasch (No. 2), and Lavender (No. 3) each delivered straight-set victories to secure the match for ACU. Monroy's 6-4, 6-1 win over Andreea Arnautu sealed the overall victory.
  • Western New Mexico fought back with strong performances from Emma Lootens-Stael (No. 5) and Jenna Kastell (No. 6), both winning in dominant fashion. Meanwhile, the No. 4 singles match between ACU's Gracie Madeya and WNMU's Blumberg was left unfinished at 6-4, 3-4 due to match completion.
  • A short rain delay briefly interrupted singles play, but ACU stayed composed to claim the 4-2 win.

Thoughts from Coach Carlisle
"Great first match for the women today! Getting the doubles point was huge because we were down one of our top players in singles, but our veterans stepped up big time and got the job done for us. This was a great learning experience for our younger players and I know they'll grow a lot from today and be better moving forward. We're excited to get back out tomorrow and build on this match."
