ACU Dominates Nelson in Huge Victory

Glendale, Ariz. – ACU exploded offensively on Tuesday night, cruising past Nelson University Arizona 6-0. The Firestorm controlled every aspect of the match, recording 39 total shots and earning their second win of the season.

  • Krista Hardesty set the tone early, netting her first goal of the year in the 10th minute to give ACU a 1-0 lead. 
  • After carrying that advantage into halftime, the Firestorm broke the match wide open with a five-goal surge in the second half.
  • Cadence Peroff led the charge with a pair of goals, including tallies in the 62nd and 65th minutes, while also finishing with a team-high 10 shots. 
  • Edith Delgado kicked a perfect corner kick into the net, scoring her first goal of the season. 
  • Peyton Baca also scored her first goal of the season, making the score 5-0. 
  • Sierra Kruyswijk capped the scoring in the 85th minute off a setup from Felicia Apodaca, extending the lead for the Firestorm 6-0. 
  • Defensively, the Firestorm were just as sharp. Goalkeepers Brenna Sonsini and Brenae Snover combined for a three-save shutout as Nelson managed only five shots the entire game.
  • ACU won the game, 6-0.
