Lady Firestorm Win Big vs the Yotes

Glendale, Ariz.- Arizona Christian delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 6-1 victory over College of Idaho in a well-rounded team effort.

  • The Firestorm started strong in doubles play, securing the early point by winning two of the three matches. 
  • After dropping the No. 1 doubles contest, the duo of Savannah Salvin and Gracie Madeya responded with a 7-5 win at No. 2, while Eloise Bigot and Ava Zink sealed the doubles point with a convincing 6-2 victory at No. 3.
  • Carrying momentum into singles, ACU took control of the match, winning five of six courts. 
  • Eloise Diligent set the tone at the top spot with a straight-sets 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 1. 
  • Ava Zink followed with a decisive 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4, and Savannah Salvin cruised at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-1 performance.
  • Gracie Madeya battled back after dropping her opening set to earn a three-set win at No. 3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, while Eloise Bigot added another point with a hard-fought straight-set victory at No. 5.
  • COI's lone point came at No. 2 singles, but it wasn't enough to slow ACU's momentum as the Firestorm closed out a great victory.
  • ACU won the match, 6-1.

"I couldn't be more proud of the girls today. This was the most complete match we've played all year, everyone showed up in a big way and showed a lot of toughness in big moments. We definitely used the conditions to our advantage and did our best to make COI feel the heat and earn every point. A big win for the girls at exactly the right time!"
