Biography
2018 (FR)- Set a season personal record in the 400 meter (55.61) at the Willie Williams Classic… At the Mesa invite set a season personal record in javelin (126’3”)
Also at ACU- A member of the ACU football team
Verrado High School- Four year varsity football player for Head Coach Derek Wahlstrom… Helped the Vipers reach the 5A state playoffs three times and win a Desert West Region and Agua Fria Union High School District Championship… Named Desert Region Honorable Mention and Cox 7 Student Athlete of the Week… Passed for 2,431 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior… Ran for two more touchdowns… Also played basketball and participated in track and field (under ACU Head Coach Ted Campbell)… Recognized as National Football Foundation First Team Scholar Athlete, Arizona First Team All-Academic, and Arizona Interscholastic Association Student of the Year
Personal- Parents- Hector (Police Officer) and Heather Gamez… Brother- Blake… Sister- Olivia… Dad was an offensive lineman for the University of San Diego… Favorite Bible Verse- Psalms 56:11… Chose ACU to grow in faith and relationship with God, stay in Arizona to play in front of family and friends, earn a solid degree, and a great football culture that plays tough and together with a championship culture… Enjoys working with Special Olympics Arizona- “a reminder to me that in their purest form sports are a powerful force”… Wants to work as a statistical analysis in the sports industry… Major is business administration.
