Mallory Gilbert

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Mallory Gilbert comes to ACU with more than a decade of experience spanning all levels of track and field.  While in college at the University of Hawaii she specialized in the Jumps and Multi-Events with a personal best of 1.79m (5’ 10.5”) in high jump, 5.78m (19’) in long jump, and 12.12m (39’9”) in triple jump.  She was the winner of the High-Point Award at the 2008 Indoor WAC Championships scoring a total of 26 points, helping the Rainbow Wahine to their highest championship placement to date.  Post-collegiately she switched to pole vault, jumping 4.15m or 13 feet 7 inches, which led her here to Phoenix where she has spent the last two years training with Altis (an international training group founded by John Godina) under the leadership of Dan Pfaff, Kyle Heirholzer, and Greg Hull.

Mallory’s belief that athletics are an incredible teacher and that the lessons learned within training and competition reach far beyond the sport itself, is what drives her to coaching.  Her faith in Christ plays an integral part in everything she does.  She is founder of SOARintentionally.com and has spoken at many schools, FCA events, and even overseas about the importance of a rooted identity in Christ and how that, ultimately, will allow one to truly see opportunity and respond (SOAR).  She is excited to bring her experience and faith to the Firestorm Track this season!
