ACU Earns Friday Sweep

ROCKLIN, CA – The Arizona Christian Firestorm volleyball team claimed a pair of victories on Friday evening against William Jessup University and Simpson University by finals of 3-0 and 3-1. 

With the victories, the Firestorm rise up to the .500 mark with an overall record of 9-9 and are 3-7 in GSAC play.

In the first match of the night against William Jessup, ACU won in three straight sets by scores of 25-11, 25-19, and 25-15. Leading the way for the Firestorm was Mackenzie Worden, who finished with 27 total attacks and 11 kills. Hayley Worden once again led the Firestorm in digs, with a total of 18.

In the second match of the night against Simpson University, the Firestorm received stiffer competition; at least in the first two sets. Final scores were 25-27, 27-25, 25-10, and 25-8. ACU was once again led by Mackenzie Worden with 46 total attacks and 24 kills. Hayley Worden led the Firestorm again in digs with 19 against Simpson University.

The Arizona Christian volleyball team will now receive some well needed rest before returning to action in 13 days. ACU returns home on October 23rd, to host Westmont College at 7pm inside of the Fultz Memorial Gymnasium, before also hosting The Master's College two days later.
