Box Score PHOENIX, AZ – The William Jessup Warriors shutout the Arizona Christian Firestorm on Tuesday night by a final of 1-0 at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
With the loss, the Firestorm fall to 3-12 overall and 0-8 in GSAC play, while William Jessup improves to 4-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in GSAC play this season.
After a scoreless first half, the Warriors struck in the 76th minute of the game, when Justin Soria sent a corner kick into the box, which was headed in by Cody Cantrell for the games lone goal.
ACU outshot William Jessup 11 to 8. The Firestorm received a stellar performance in net from Jorge Arauz, who played all 90 minutes and made five saves.
The Arizona Christian men's soccer team returns to action this Saturday, when they travel to Fullerton, California to face Hope International University at 2:30pm. The women will precede the ACU men at 12 noon at Hope International.
