Tuesday A Repeat Of Monday

Box Score

Phoenix, AZ- Facing each other for the second time in as many days, Great Falls completed the 3-0 win (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) over Arizona Christian.  Junior Samantha McCants again lead the Firestorm- this time with 10 kills on Tuesday.  Sophomore Deborah White led ACU in hitting percentage by hitting .308.

Like Monday, the first two sets of Tuesday's match resulted in the same final score with one tie and one lead change.

Also like Monday, Arizona Christian did not roll over in the third set as they forced back-to-back errors to take a 2-1 edge.  But UGF responded with a 7-0 run to move ahead for good.  However, despite being down by as many as five on several occasions including 14-9, the Firestorm climbed back with one thanks to a 5-1 run.  ACU forced five straight UGF errors keyed by two blocks from White, McCants, and Sophomore Hailey Settle.  Unfortunately, that was as close as the Firestorm would come the rest of the way.

McCants had four kills in the final set after three in each of the previous two sets.  White delivered three kills in each of the last two sets on her way to six kills and her .308 hitting.

On Saturday, the Firestorm will return to the court in Fultz Memorial Gym as they host Vanguard for a 3:00 pm match.
