Box Score

Laie, HI- Playing for the third time in four days on the floor of BYU- Hawaii, the Firestorm held a lead in the final three minutes against the host Seasiders before falling 77-70.  Senior Madison Austin was up to the challenge as she scored a game high 19 points.

Austin and Freshman Courtney Christmas came out ready to play as they scored five points each to account for the first 10 ACU points including a three pointer by both ladies.  The Firestorm (4-3) led 10-6 after three minutes.

Though allowing two ties, Arizona Christian did not surrender the lead in the first quarter after the Christmas and Austin three balls.  ACU found themselves up 22-17 at the quarter break.  Christmas netted seven of those points while Freshman Makayla Enders added six points.

Halfway through the second quarter, ACU continued to hold a five point edge at 28-23.  But BYU- Hawaii closed the quarter with a 12-6 run to hold a 35-34 edge at the half.

Enders ended the first half tied with a game high of ten points.

Senior Jazmin Mays knocked down the first two points of the second half and the Firestorm went right back in front. With 6:30 to play in the third, BYUH grabbed their only lead of the quarter.  However, Arizona Christian countered with a 10-0 run (six points by Austin) to move ahead by nine points- the largest lead for either team in the contest.  The third quarter ended with ACU in front 54-46.

The fourth quarter featured one more tie and seven lead changes.  A jumper in the paint by Austin gave ACU a 66-65 edge with 2:41 to play.  Unfortunately, the Firestorm could not hold off the NCAA DII Seasiders (3-0) down the stretch.

Coming in behind Austin's 19 points was Enders with 14 points and Christmas with 13 points.  The balanced attack of BYUH featured five players in double figures.

Upon returning from Hawaii, the Firestorm will have a couple of days to enjoy Thanksgiving before hosting another classic on Friday and Saturday.  On Friday, the Firestorm will play NCAA DIII Sul Ross State (TX) at 7:00 pm.
