Prescott, AZ- On Monday and Tuesday, women's golf teams including Arizona Christian were chasing host Embry-Riddle around the Talking Rock Golf Club course. The Firestorm locked in third. Junior Alysha Danache was once again consistent throughout all three rounds.
Rounds one and three resulted in the same score of 341 for the Firestorm. Sandwiched in between ACU saw their score in round two inflate to 351. They ended with a score of 1,033- 58 strokes behind second place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and 57 strokes ahead of fourth place Marymount (CA). Nobody was catching Embry-Riddle who claimed first with an impressive 912.
Like her last tournament, Danache produced three rounds that were all within one stroke of each other. She delivered an 82 in both the first and second rounds despite the second round starting on Monday but being completed on Tuesday due to darkness. In the third round, Danache was one stroke better and used her 81 to claim eighth overall.
Sophomore Jordyn Deardorff started solid with a 79 but saw her scores increase from there- 84 in the second and 87 in the third. Her overall 250 placed her tied for 13th place.
Senior Sarah Kaye found her consistent stroke as well as he clubbed her way to scores of 86, 86, and 84. She placed 17th.
Freshman Rina Labianca and Junior Sylvia Renfroe wrapped up the team effort with Labianca's third round of 89 the best round between them.
The Firestorm will not be back in action until they host the Firestorm Fall Invitational at the Moon Valley Golf Club on November 21 and 22.
