Atherton, CA- Arizona Christian's trip to Northern California started out tough as they fell 3-0 (25-5, 25-19, 25-11) at Menlo on Friday evening.

After the Oaks led beginning to end in the first set, a kill from Senior Samantha McCants gave the Firestorm a 1-0 lead to begin the second set.  But Menlo scored the next three points and remained in front the rest of the set.

McCants had five of her team high six kills in the first two sets.

The third set saw MC open with the first two points.  But a kill and service ace from McCants sandwiched around a hitting error by Menlo gave ACU a 3-2 edge.  Following a 3-3 tie, Junior Hailey Settle put a kill away for the 4-3 lead.  Three points later, the set was tied 5-5 but the Oaks used an 11-0 run to take control of the set.

Senior Haley Worden concluded the match with five kills and five digs.

Freshman Abbey Yates delivered a career high 16 digs which was her second straight match to create a new match best.

The Firestorm will look to change their fortune when they play at William Jessup on Saturday.  First serve is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
