Firestorm Offers No Containment For Warriors

Box Score

Phoenix, AZ- With hopes of a well-balanced match that never really panned out, Arizona Christian fell 4-0 to Westmont on Saturday.

After Westmont hit the first shot of the afternoon, Junior Alonso Quintero struck a shot from 30 yards out six minutes in but right at the Westmont goalkeeper.

Just before the game was nine minutes old, the Warriors put their first tally on the board.

Ten minutes of clock time and before another ACU shot, Westmont used a series of three shots- two rebounds and then into a goal- for a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Justice Farling subbed in after the second goal and two minutes later show off some hustle to create a shot that ended up going wide.  Farling eventually took another shot followed by a strike from Freshman Alex Segura- both went high.  Sandwiched in between Farling's shots, Sophomore Brian Booker saw his header on target get saved.

Any comeback thoughts were extinguished when the Warriors scored a pair of goals off long balls played into the box before the second half was eight minutes old.

The final 25-30 minutes of the game was rather uneventful as Westmont played the possession game with strategic attacks as Arizona Christian spent most of the half chasing.

Next week the Firestorm have a full slate- Tuesday afternoon at Menlo (1:00 pm), Friday night hosting St. Katherine CA (7:30 pm and Senior night), and then Saturday at home against The Master's (1:30 pm).
