Mustangs Too Tall For Firestorm

Box Score

Phoenix, AZ- On Saturday, the height of The Master's was too tall of an order for Arizona Christian as the Mustangs beat the Firestorm 71-63.  Senior Madison Austin scored 16 points.

Bianca Cubello of the Mustangs (20-3, 10-1 GSAC) scored the first two points of the game which turned out to be a theme for the rest of the day.

Austin dropped in a three pointer to give the Firestorm (10-13, 2-8 GSAC) their only lead of the afternoon.  She added two free throws and ACU held a 5-2 lead.

But TMC scored the next seven points to take a lead they would not surrender the remainder of the game.

By halftime, The Master's held a 38-28 lead with Arizona Christian only getting as close as five after the first few minutes.

Freshman Courtney Christmas had a solid first half as she reached 11 points on 5-8 shooting.

ACU found themselves down by as many as 18 points with 3:49 to play in the third quarter.

Give up- not a chance.  ACU climbed all the way back within five points with under four minutes to play.  But the Mustangs withstood the late charge.
