Phoenix, AZ- On the strength of shooting 68.2% from the field and 93.3% from the free throw line in two ACU wins, Senior Chris Sterling was named the GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.  Sterling averaged 25 points and 6.5 rebounds last week.

On Thursday, the Bakersfield, CA native, lead the #25 Firestorm to an 80-75 upset win of #6 Carroll at The Master's New Year's Classic.  Sterling produced 23 points on 6-12 shooting from the field along with an impressive 10-11 from the free throw stripe.

A day later, Sterling lit up UC Merced for 27 points thanks to making 9-10 shots including 5-6 from behind the three point line and a perfect 4-4 shooting free throws.

The GSAC's leading scorer has guided the Firestorm to a 12-1 start as they head back into GSAC play this week.
