Box Score Phoenix, AZ- Celebrating Homecoming and Senior Night, Arizona Christian blasted past Texas College 56-0 on Saturday night. Senior Ryan Esslinger, named the new Homecoming King, passed for 311 yards and six touchdowns. Senior Quintin Riley was all over the field making a team high nine tackles.
On their second possession of the game, the Firestorm (6-3, 4-3 CSFL) needed to cover just eight yards for a touchdown. Esslinger covered six of those yards with a strike into the end zone to Senior Jonathon Parks.
Before the quarter came to a close, Esslinger found Junior Rick Smith for a catch and run 43 yard touchdown and then hit Senior Dajon Staton in the end zone. After a blocked extra point following the Smith TD, ACU went for two and Esslinger to Senior Scott Kuhn made the score 21-0.
With a minute to play in the half, Esslinger hit Junior Kendrick Murphy for his first of two touchdowns.
In the third quarter, Murphy spun away from several would be tacklers and raced 73 yards to the house.
Sophomore Alias Sturges grabbed the last of the six TD tosses by Esslinger.
Senior Justin Carroll made a nice diving catch near the back of the end zone on throw from Junior Adam Abbatacola a third of the way through the fourth quarter.
The final TD of the night featured Senior Damario Fair busting off a 65 yard run right up the middle.
Defensively, 31 guys were credited with a tackle. Behind the nine tackles by Riley (including five solo), Senior Joshua Carter was good for eight tackles with two tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Senior Mitchell Carpenter had seven tackles (2.5 for loss) and Senior Ricky Bradley was good for six tackles. Juniors Dakota Jones and James Bagley both recorded a sack.

Next Saturday, the Firestorm will close out their season with a 12:00 pm (Arizona)/ 2:00 pm game at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, TX.
