Vallejo, CA- Arizona Christian Women's Golf closed out their season by playing in the NAIA West Women's Championship at the Hiddenbrooke Golf Course. The Firestorm finished fifth out of the eight teams participating. Junior Alysha Danache claimed ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Without enough teams in the GSAC to host a conference tournament, the four GSAC schools paired up with the five CALPAC teams to form the NAIA West Women's Championship.
Embry-Riddle was the team to beat as they wrapped the tournament with the top four golfers on the leaderboard as they ended up 90 strokes ahead of the second place team Biola. ACU shot a combined 400 in the first before dropping down to 374 in the second round but moved back in the final round.
Danache began her work on the 5,809 yard course with a 92 in the opening round. She found a better rhythm her second round as she wrote an 81 on her scorecard. She moved up eight spots in with second round improvement. On Tuesday, she added three strokes in her final round.
Senior Sarah Kaye shot a 94 in her first round. She climbed four spots on the board after shooting an 89 in the second round. In her third round, she knocked off another two strokes of her trip through the course. She ended up 14th.
Freshman Rina Labianca shot a 99 followed by a 95 in the second round. Her third round sent her back to 99.
Junior Sylvia Renfroe completed her three rounds with a 342. Senior Amber Rayls rounded out her collegiate career with a 369.
