Livingston Nets a Pair of Goals in Narrow Loss

Box Score

PLAINVIEW, Tex. - The Arizona Christian University men's soccer program (0-1-0) suffered its first defeat Thursday afternoon with a 4-3 loss against Wayland Baptist University (2-0-0) at Hilliard Field in Plainview, Tex.

Thoughts from Coach

After the match, Head Coach Andrew Belleman stated, "We started really well, got on the ball, attacked dangerously, and were really good on set pieces.  I was really pleased with how the boys played in the first half.  Unfortunately, we struggled to handle Wayland's pressure and their speed of play.  We fought and tried to get ourselves back into the contest, but we weren't able to.  It was a great match overall and we are excited for another opportunity on Saturday."

The Game:

After being down a goal, 2-1 just 16:51 into the match, ACU would rally to score two goals before halftime to regain a 3-2 advantage.  The second half would be all Wayland Baptist however, as the Pioneers would come from behind to add two second-half goals en route to earning the 4-3 win.
