- The Firestorm jumped out to a 4-0 edge in the second set (kill by Kaeleigh Gibson and ace by Savitch)
- TMU could only force ties at 10-10 and 11-11 before a 5-1 run pushed ACU ahead the rest of the set
- After trailing at 6-5, the Firestorm moved back ahead allowing just three ties
- A kill from Deni Jackson and back-to-back service aces by Lunsford gave the top score through the end of the set

"Tonight was destined to be a great battle. It took a whole team effort to deliver this ordained win. We struggled in the fourth set but after rattling off about five points towards the end of the set we were able to secure momentum leading into the fifth set. We did not get to choose the circumstances we found ourselves in, but our girls were determined to win."
