Box Score Glendale, Ariz.- On Thursday, No. 7 Arizona Christian brought the defensive heat as they beat No. 4 William Jessup in the GSAC Game of the Week. The Firestorm forced the Warriors to shoot 33.9% from the field- a season low for ACU against a GSAC foe.

- Davis scored first and Micah Bradford followed with a three for a 5-0 lead
- WJU hit a three of their own to climb with two
- But that was as close as the Warriors would get the rest of the game
- A bucket from Davis gave ACU their first double digit lead with 3:45 left in the half
- Davis scored all 13 of his points in the opening 20 minutes
- ACU held WJU to just 30% shooting and 21.4% from three point country
- The first 13 minutes of the second half saw the score differential range from just 8-13 points
- Marcus Green nailed a three pointer to push ACU out to a double digit edge through the final buzzer
- ACU dominated the paint with 48 points versus 28 points for WJU
- The win basically moves ACU a game and a half up in the GSAC race (half game in W-L column plus the first tiebreak of head-to-head)
- In the matchup between perennial NAIA Tournament participants, ACU pushed their win streak to ten games versus WJU
Thoughts from Coach Rutter
"We did a very good job defensively tonight against a good team and we were able to take control of the game and hold them off. It was not a great offensive game for either team. We need to do a much better job of valuing the basketball moving forward but our guys were pretty locked in defensively and we were tough to score on tonight. Another big one on Saturday!"
