Gold Rush Firestorm Unable To Slow Rams

Box Score

Glendale, Ariz.- Showing off their new all gold look while playing under the lights for the first time ever on campus was a great new atmosphere for Arizona Christian football on Saturday night.  Unfortunately, the score was not anything like they hoped as they dropped their opener to Texas Wesleyan.

Senior Tyler Duncan was the offensive leader as he had an arm or leg in all three touchdowns including two on the ground.  His touchdown through the air connected with Senior Aidan Quinn.

Senior Riley Tucker did his best to attempt to slow the Rams as he finished with the team high in tackles and an interception.  Junior Maurice Powell added ten tackles up front.

  • However, the Rams outscored the Firestorm 23-0 in the final quarter and a half

Thoughts from Coach Bowen

"Disappointing start.  Did not play well in any phase of the game.  We will do a better job coaching and they will respond against Fort Lewis.  It is a long season and I am excited to see how our team responds next week."
