Glendale, Ariz.-  On Tuesday, February 21 st the Firestorm baseball squad faced off against the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles of Prescott, Arizona.

Inside the Box Score 

It was a close game through and through, with Jordan Vickers starting the game for ACU. Vickers would go three innings giving up two runs. The eagles took the lead in the 3rd, but then ACU would respond with an RBI sacrifice fly out from Justin Ramirez. Then the eagles would take back the lead in the 4th and keep it at a four run lead until the 9th. Then in the bottom of the ninth, ACU would attempt a comeback, including a two run homerun from the pinch hitting Tanner Vielguth, his second homerun of the year. In the end, the Firestorm would lose to the Eagles 5-3, giving Vickers his second loss of the year.

Thoughts from Coach McDonald:

"I loved how we continue to fight and compete all nine innings and this is a group that has no quit in them. However we have got to make sure we improve on the little things and minimize free passes and the little mistakes that led to their runs tonight. We will work hard the next couple days and be ready for Friday night."
