The scoring got started early tonight with Porchas' RBI single up the middle to score Justin Ramirez in the bottom of the first inning. With Porchas joining Durazo on the bases, the stage was set for Deshon Thomas to jump on a first pitch fastball that was sent into orbit over the center field wall. On the defensive side, it was a Whole-Staff night for the Firestorm pitchers, starting with Jackson Hohensee who tossed two no-hit innings. Pinedo would follow with two more perfect innings, recording four strikeouts and earning the win. The bullpen finished the game relatively un-scathed aside from allowing a run in the fifth inning. All in total, the Firestorm staff combined for fourteen strikeouts on the night, while minimizing the walks and hit batters. Vielguth ended the scoring in the eighth inning with a towering blast to left field. ACU evened up the season-series at one apiece with Embry-Riddle, and prepare for a three game conference series this weekend.

GSAC action continues this weekend as the Firestorm head to Atherton, California to take on the Menlo Oaks. The three game set will be played at Cartan Field, with game 1 starting on Friday March 24th at 11 AM.
