Inside the Box Score

Tonight was a huge bounceback double header for the Firestorm who were looking to get back into the win column after Tuesday night's loss.  Elliott and Hohensee both stepped up with quality starts to put ACU on the right path.  The scoring started early with four extra base hits in game one, followed by four more in game two.  Justin Ramirez's RBI single in game two tied the All-Time Hits Record at ACU with 209.  Riley Quinton made another appearance out of the pen and slammed the door shut to secure the victory in game one.  ACU led wire-to-wire in today's double header sweep, and secured their third conference series win of the year.

Thoughts from Coach McDonald:

"Today was a good day for Firestorm Baseball. We had a lot of great play defensively and really good pitching performances. I was proud how we stayed focused and played every inning tonight. Big Time congratulations to Justin Ramirez for tying the career hit record."

Next for the Firestorm

Game three of the GSAC Series with SDCC will take place tomorrow at Glendale High School, with first pitch scheduled for 4 PM.  Following that game the Firestorm and Hawks will play a non-conference matchup that will only be 7 innings.
