Nevarez Leads Firestorm To Third-Place Finish

Hector Nevarez led the Firestorm with a 6th-place finish

Beaumont, Calif. - ACU Men's Golf claimed third place in its return to competition at the Vanguard Spring Invite. The Firestorm finished one shot behind Embry-Riddle (AZ) (628) and 30 behind the team champion, OUAZ (599). Hope International's Troy Schulz was the individual medalist with a two-day total of 144 (74, 70).

Hector Nevarez was the top Firestorm golfer in his second tournament of the season, with a 154 stroke total (75, 79) and sixth place finish. Also making his second appearance of the year, Max Mylett followed in eighth with scores of 77 and 79, his first round score tying his season-low.

Matt Campbell fired the team's low score of the week (74) in the final round to grab solo 11th on the leaderboard.
