Crowder Teeing off

Women's Golf Tim Gooszen

Hot Days, Tough Course

Surprise, Ariz. - With afternoon temperatures near 110 degrees, the Sterling Golf Course was very unforgiving with hard greens and fairways on Monday and Tuesday.  The Firestorm started with their best round but slid from there as they finished fifth.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH PARKER
"This event was an improvement for us finishing in fifth place. We had six out of 15 scores in the 70's with Madelyn carding her career best tournament score of 76.  Taylor was in fifth place after two rounds of 75/76 yesterday in some brutal heat conditions and unfortunately fell back today. Avery had the strongest finish for the Firestorm squad. Overall, it was our putting that was a challenge as the greens were large and very undulating.  We will focus on our short game this next week and a half as we prepare for the Embry Riddle event in two weeks.  Excited to head to the next one and escape the hot temps!"

NEXT UP
In two weeks, Arizona Christian will make what is traditionally their first of two trips of the season to Prescott to compete in the ERAU Fall Invitational.  The ERAU field will face the rarity of playing two courses in one tournament.

Roll Storm!
