ACU Finishes Third At GSAC Championships

Lompoc, Calif.- At the 2026 GSAC Women's Golf Championships held at La Purisima Golf Course (Par 72, 5,930 yards), Arizona Christian placed third out of six teams after three rounds of competition.

After opening-round standings were set, rain impacted play on day two, and no team movement occurred on the leaderboard the rest of the tournament.

The Firestorm placed three golfers inside the top ten, led by a pair of All-GSAC selections. Nikki Bowen and Taylor Crowder both earned all-conference honors, with Bowen also being named GSAC Newcomer of the Year.  Head Coach Kristal Parker was recognized as GSAC Coach of the Year.

Crowder tied for sixth and showed steady improvement throughout the event, lowering her score in each round. She capped her tournament with a six-over final round of 78, the second-best score in the final round across the field.

Bowen, who tied for eighth, delivered a strong opening round and bounced back with a solid third round to secure her top ten finish.

Elizabeth Felix rounded out the Firestorm's top performers, placing 10th overall. She demonstrated consistency across all three rounds, finishing with scores of 84, 80, and 82 for just a four-stroke differential.

Arizona Christian's third-place team finish was highlighted by consistency, resilience through weather conditions, and strong individual performances that earned conference-wide recognition.

Coach Parker stated, "The girls had a tough week at conference. Conditions were very challenging and scores were very high.  It was a year of progress winning an event and being a bridesmaid once.  I am proud of the gals, more than anything, for allowing God's light to shine through them every step of the way.  He ultimately gets all the glory and we are grateful for all of our opportunities.  Being ranked 24th in the nation, we have a slim chance of getting a bid into Nationals.  We shall see. A heartful thank you to all of my fellow coaches as I am humbled to be voted as Coach of the Year again. #RollStorm."

As mentioned by Coach Parker, the Firestorm will now wait and see if they advance to the NAIA National Championship.  The championship will be held on May 19-22 at the Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, MI.
