Goodyear, AZ.- In an early season match-up against familiar foes, the Firestorm men's team found a mixture of success and growing paints as they dove into the 2024-25 season.
The team was led by a senior and freshman due of
Kadin van der Lingen and
Isaiah Porritt. Both contributed to a third-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay, while Van Der Lingen took second place in the 100-yard freestyle, and Porritt second place in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Head Coach
Brad Hering still sees much room for improvement, "ACU swimming against Masters, Ottawa, and SOKA showed us where we are at right now. We have a ways to go on technique, mental training, and racing strategies. As a team, I am giving this squad the highest marks on character and team unity! We swim GCU (D1), Simon Fraser (D2) and Ottawa at the end of this week and are looking for more breakthroughs - even when they are sore and not rested."
