Top 15 Action Comes To ACU Events Center

Glendale, Ariz.- On Friday and Saturday, NAIA number four ranked Arizona Christian will be hosting number nine Concordia (Neb.) and number 14 Morningside.  The top 15 matchups will be the final tuneups for the Firestorm before GSAC play begins after the new year.

The Firestorm (10-2) went 1-1 at the Cactus Classic earlier this week.  Balanced scoring was the theme of the games in Chandler as no Firestorm scored more than 16 points and six players reached double figures in Tuesday's win over Providence (MT).  The Firestorm are averaging 82.4 points on the season.

Series Notes
The Firestorm are facing the Bulldogs for just the second time.  ACU won 85-71 in 2018- the last year on the old ACU campus.

Versus Morningside, the teams have split their only two meetings with both games played on neutral courts.  The Firestorm beat the Mustangs in the Round of 16 at the NAIA National tournament just two seasons ago.

Concordia (Neb.)
The Bulldogs are 7-3 and 4-3 in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.  On Saturday, Concordia beat Waldorf 103-79.  Tristan Smith scored 35 points in the win.  Noah Schutte surpassed 2,000 career points in the game. 

Morningside (Iowa)
The Mustangs are 10-2 after beating Mount Mary 91-63 on Saturday.  Joey Skoff scored 19 points.  MU is 6-2 in Great Plains Athletic Conference games which includes beating Concordia (Neb.) twice.
