Caleb Schaapveld evened the score 1-1 with an unassisted goal at the 7:51 mark of the first period and followed with a second unassisted goal at 3:41 to give ACU a 2-1 advantage. With the score tied at the end of one period, Scout Koch found the back of the net on two goals assisted by Kellen Haigh at 12:18 and 6:51 in the second. Westcliff scored the next three goals to take a 5-4 lead going into the fourth period. ACU scored three times in the fourth on goals from Henry, Shaapveld, and Oliver. Westcliff tied the score with 1:08 left in the game and scored the decisive goal in the 5th OT period.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH JAKE LANDON
"Regardless of the outcome, playing in a game with five overtimes is something of legend and I know our guys will remember the experience for a lifetime. Ultimately, we had too many opportunities to put the game away in overtime that we didn't capitalize on. We loved the effort and resilience to pull ourselves out of the deficit in the third quarter and kudos to the Westcliff team for giving us their best efforts for all four quarters. Every game is an opportunity to learn and we're walking away knowing ourselves better."

NEXT UP FOR THE FIRESTORM
The Firestorm will travel up the hill to Flagstaff for contests Friday and Saturday against NAU and the University of New Mexico on Friday, March 1st and 2nd, respectively.
