Riverside, Calif.- Savannah Smith opened the first true road trip of the season in style as she threw her second career no-hitter and overall third in ACU history.  Miranda Hiploito homered in the day cap as the Firestorm swept the Golden Eagles.

• Miles and Hipolito both reached via hit by a pitch and scored on Herrera's double to center

• Dowdy doubled leading off the third, Reese followed with a single, and Hipolito doubled them home

• Smith retired the final 13 batters she faced- 12 via strikeout

Inside Game Two

• Hipolito launched her fourth home run of the season to open the game two scoring
• The Golden Eagles tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first
• After a scoreless second, both teams scored two in the third (double from Buckley highlighted ACU scoring
• In the fourth, ACU scored six runs on the benefit of just three hits
• Reese singled to start the fifth and Em. Garcia doubled behind her
• Lawson entered the game in the fourth to help to stop an LSU threat
• She delivered a 1-2-3 fifth to end the game

Thoughts from Coach Mayben
"Today was a good start to our first road trip of the season.  Savannah was sharp in the circle, and our offense got off to a great start getting lead-off hitters on base the first three innings then executing well. We have been focused on self control this week, and today was a good example of self discipline, and trusting the work that was put in this week."

The Firestorm will challenge Westcliff on Saturday.  The double header was scheduled to be played at the OC Great Park but will be played at Long Beach City College.  First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am (CA)/ 12:00 pm (AZ).
