Firestorm Squander Road Lead Against #9 JU

Lincoln, Calif. - Arizona Christian poured on the runs in the early going, but was shut out in the final six innings to pave the way for a 9-7 defeat at the hands of newly voted #9 Jessup.

Kane Kiaunis etched his eighth multi-hit game of 2024 with a season-high three hits, headlined by an RBI double in the third frame. As Marques Titialii went hitless for the fourth straight game, Kiaunis grabbed the outright lead in team RBIs (24).

Deshon Thomas is beginning to turn his bat's fortunes around, recording two hits and one RBI. Three other Firestorm players registered an RBI, Andrew Ivy getting the most bang for his buck by sending two runners (Thomas and Jared Anderson) through home with a single to right field in the third inning.

Jackson Hohensee struggled to fool the Warriors in his sixth start on the mound, conceding six runs and six hits in 2.2 innings. Eastyn Culp, in a reliever's role this time around, was solid in his 4.0 innings as he only allowed one hit and one run to keep ACU hopeful.

Saturday's double header will determine the season series, which is now tied 2-2.
