Higuera Headlines Shortened Shootout At Sundance

Buckeye, Ariz. - Arizona Christian Women's Golf positioned itself in last place in a shortened Shootout At Sundance on March 18-19. The tournament was originally scheduled for 36 holes of competition but was cut nine holes short due to darkness. Embry-Riddle (AZ), most recently ranked seventh in the nation by Scoreboard, breezed by #13 OUAZ on-route to a 24-stroke victory.

Embry-Riddle's Hailey Stevenson and OUAZ's Taylor Wilczek ended up co-medalists with 113 (+5) totals and the Eagles' entire top-five finished in the top 10 on the leaderboard.

Sophia Higuera earned her second top-10 finish of the 2023-24 season with a 124 total and the team's only 18-hole score in the 80s (80).

Sarafina Nicholas was the second-highest placing Lady Firestorm (T-18th) with scores of 94, 45 (139). Madelyn Thorsen and Elizabeth Hiltman posted ACU's second-lowest 18-hole scores of the tournament with opening round 93s, and shared 20th.
