Cordova Sheds Season-Bests, ACU Third In Prescott

Prescott, Ariz. - The Lady Firestorm took home a third-place finish in the ERAU Spring Invite, their final tune-up before the GSAC Championship. Tournament-host Embry-Riddle (AZ) won the team title by a whopping 56 shots over Grace College (+103), who narrowly edged ACU (+105) by two strokes. Kaetlin Halseth of Embry-Riddle (AZ) was the individual medalist, firing scores of 76-75 (+7) for a five-stroke victory over fellow Eagle Hailey Stevenson (82-74).

Senior Sarah Cordova was the top golfer from Arizona Christian, destroying her previous season-best round (87) two times over with scores of 85-79 (+20) to finish in solo sixth. She also shaved 12 shots off her previous 36-hole best of 176 (ACU v. NWC on March 12-13).

Sarafina Nicholas came into the clubhouse one shot behind Cordova, also shooting her own season-best with a second round 81. The seventh-place finish is Nicholas' second top-10 of the 2023-24 season.

Sophia Higuera rounded out those who earned a top-10, posting a two-round total of 168 (82-86) to grab ninth. The junior holed a team-high 10 pars on day one but could not translate that solid play into leaderboard-climbing in Tuesday's final round.

Elizabeth Hiltman and Madelyn Thorsen registered 16th and 17th place respectively.
