An Almost Split

Glendale, Ariz.- Facing off with NAIA number eight ranked Jessup on Saturday saw Arizona Christian come one out away from earning a split.  Unfortunately, the Warriors capitalized on a miscue to pull off the sweep.

  • The Warriors struck first with two in the top of the first
  • Emily Garcia scored on a Jessup error in the bottom of the first
  • Jessup pushed ahead 2-1 before Herrera tripled home Jyden Miles and Reese for a 3-3 tie
  • But the Warriors scored the final four runs of the game

  • Jessup plated one run in the seventh and had runners at second and third but two outs
  • An error allowed the tying runs to score followed by a single that cashed in the game winner
  • ACU had the tying run at second in the seventh but could not score

Up Next
Arizona Christian will head to Southern California next week for their final two GSAC doubleheaders of the season.  On Friday, the Firestorm will play at NAIA number 12 ranked Hope International.  The game will be played at Bastanchury Park with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 pm.
